Student Planners
The Dearne High School places great importance on our students being prepared for learning. This means, not only having the right equipment and the right attitude to learning but being organised too.
To help our students with organisation everyone is provided with an annual planner and they are expected to have the planner with them in every lesson.
The planner is really popular with students, staff and parents alike.
Students use it to record homework, note important dates such as exams and coursework deadlines or to note down things to remember. There are also subject pages with key words, maps, timelines, symbols and so on. Traffic light pages help students give feedback on how well they have understood a lesson, whilst other pages are used to record grades and targets and to keep track of progress.
Staff can use the planner to make sure that a student has recorded their homework or can a write a note to parents about concerns or to praise a student.
Parents can see clearly what homework has been set and can communicate easily with staff at school through the notes pages.
