Student support
Gifted and Talented Students learning support
As a truly inclusive school we welcome students from a variety of backgrounds with a variety of abilities and talents. We do not offer a “one solution fits all” approach. As such we have a range of strategies to both challenge or support students. |
The school has a large and successful learning support department. |
The school has a gifted and talented team who are dedicated to stretching the more able and developing the talents latent in so many of our students.
Special Educational Needs
The school's SEN policy aims to facilitate the provision of education for students with SEN. They are entitled to access a broad, balanced, differentiated and relevant curriculum, which includes the National Curriculum. The school works in partnership with parents and all involved agencies to provide support for its students.
Learning Mentors
The mentoring team work with highlighted students towards overcoming barriers to learning, with support in attainment, attendance, motivation, bullying and other relevant issues being provided. |
The mentors regularly support other faculty events throughout school with the aim of maintaining already established positive working relationships with students from all year groups. |
The mentors have strong links with the Primary partner schools, enabling smooth information transfer and the enhancement of the primary transition process. |
The team offer numerous extra curricular reward trips, a variety of break, lunch and after school clubs, half-term revision days, and a summer activity camp at the end of the academic year.
