Admissions Guide
The Dearne High School is a comprehensive school and has no selection policy based on ability, gender, ethnic group or religious beliefs. All students are welcome to join the school.
We offer a broad, balanced curriculum that serves the needs of all youngsters - within a caring, supportive pastoral system.
If you have a child at a local primary school, then you will receive application forms from the school.
If you have a child at a different school you will need to contact the school for further information.
A great deal of liaison takes place between The Dearne High School and primary schools in order to ensure all youngsters make the transition with the minimum disruption to their education. This includes visits and lessons at The Dearne High School, during Years five and six.
The First Day for Year Seven
The first day at a new school is likely to be viewed with trepidation by most youngsters. We recognise, this and hope our first day arrangements will give the students the opportunity to get into new routines with a minimum of disruption to their learning.
Year Seven are the only students in school on the first day, in order to allow them to get to know the place a little better.
